Karachi Kings Beat Lahore Qalandars by 5 Wickets To Keep Playoff Hopes Alive in PSL 2026

Karachi Kings outclassed Lahore Qalandars in  the latest PSL clash, as Khushdil Shah’s stunning cameo in the end sealed the chase. He played a superb knock of 44 runs that shifted the match in the Kings favor, keeping their playoff hopes alive in the tournament.

Talking about the chase, the Kings initially had a rough start, as Ubaid Shah removed opener Jason Roy in the second over with just 10 runs on the board. This brought a lot of pressure on David Warner, who also looked a bit uncomfortable at the start.

The captain then found good support from Moeen Ali, and the pair added 58 runs quickly before Ubaid struck again, dismissing Moeen for 39.

After the dismissal of the Englishman, Khushdil Shah played a major role, as his partnership with Warner sealed the chase for the Kings. He scored 44 off just 14 balls, hitting 2 fours and 5 sixes. It literally stunned the Qalandars, as Karachi hunted down the target inside 18.4 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.

Talking about the first innings, Lahore Qalandars also had a poor start, as Warner ran out young opener Mohammad Farooq with a direct hit in the third over when the score was just 24.

Fakhar Zaman was then joined by Abdullah Shafique, and the pair put the team in a strong position with a 110-run stand for the second wicket in just 61 balls before Moeen Ali dismissed Fakhar in the 14th over.

The Englishman then struck again in his next over, removing Charith Asalanka and reducing the score to 148/3. Abdullah Shafique was then bowled by debutant Rizwanullah in the following over after top-scoring with 62. After that, Sikandar Raza played a fighting knock to push the total, helping Lahore Qalandars reach 199 by the end of the innings.

It was indeed a strong batting show by the Qalandars, however, Karachi stunned them in the later part of the match, securing a crucial victory by 5 wickets.
