'Squeezed Every Drop' – Kane Richardson Bids Farewell to Professional Cricket

Former Australia pacer Kane Richardson has announced his retirement from professional cricket. After representing the Sydney Sixers in the recent BBL 15 season, he is now stepping away from the game for good. Richardson is among the few players who have featured in the BBL since its very first season, which has made him a highly respected figure in the league.

Kane Richardson will finish his career as the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the BBL with 142 scalps. This showcases why he was a highly sought-after player in the league, where bowlers often have to work hard to remain consistent.

"I would like to announce my retirement from professional cricket at the conclusion of this BBL. From making my debut back in 2009 until now, I feel like I have squeezed every drop out of myself, and it is the right time to finish such an enjoyable part of my life,” said Kane Richardson.

He then thanked everyone who worked with him during the last few years, including coaches, administrators, and fellow players. He said all these people helped him to grow and perform better in professional cricket consistently.

"I would like to thank all the coaches, administrators, and fellow players who have shaped my career, particularly those from my early days in South Australia and the Northern Territory,” said Kane Richardson.

Richardson then expressed his feelings, saying he was fortunate to represent Australia on the international stage. He reiterated that his commitment to the game always remained on top, as he never took any opportunity lightly.

"I've been fortunate enough to represent my country, along with many franchise teams around the world, and in Australia. I have never taken the opportunity lightly, and I hope the people watching knew that I had dreamt about being a cricketer since I was a kid in Darwin," concluded Kane Richardson.
