England’s batting maestro Joe Root is eagerly waiting for the upcoming Ashes series in Australia. He is optimistic about churning out runs in the series to give England the ultimate Ashes glory. The batter will head into this fourth Ashes tour, hence all eyes will be on him to produce something magical for the England team. Joe Root is also not shying away from this opportunity, as he is committed to scoring runs for the England team that will be led by Ben Stokes.

Paying no attention to the words of former Australian cricketers, Joe Root is planning to answer everyone through his performances. He understands the importance of this tour, as it could define his legacy in the great Ashes books.

"They are going to say what they want to say anyway, so why bother worrying about it? It doesn't make a huge amount of difference. When we look back in five years' time, no one is going to remember what Matthew Hayden said to me, Greg Blewett, Mark Waugh, whoever it is. They are going to look back on the scoreline and think that is a historic England win or not,” said Joe Root.

He further stated that the main goal of his team is to win the Ashes in Australia. It doesn’t matter to him whether he scores a century or not. The only thing that will matter is how his contributions can help England achieve Ashes glory.

"At the end of the day, this tour is not about me. If I am scoring runs and scoring heavily, it gives us a great opportunity to win a series out in Australia. That is the main focus," said Joe Root.

The batter then explained how he is planning to do well in the upcoming Ashes tour. He gave examples of the earlier tours in which he was a bit inexperienced. However, he now understands his game better than ever, thanks to the reduced pressure on his shoulders.

"I go there in a completely different capacity to last time, different circumstances, a lot more experience now, and I feel like I have a really good understanding of my game and how I want to manage it in these conditions. If I focus on that sort of stuff more than myself and my own individual stuff, I will give myself a way better chance," said Joe Root.

The England batter also mentioned that he plans to tour Australia with more than just cricket on his mind. He encouraged his teammates to enjoy the trip as well, saying that Australia is a great country with plenty of places to explore and relax.

"I am really going to encourage the lads to really enjoy Australia as a country. Anyone that was on that previous tour didn't get the chance to do that. It is a great place to go and play cricket and have the pleasure of visiting. We should absolutely go and explore it, and see all of the great things that come with being an international cricketer and playing in that country," said Joe Root.

The Ashes test series between England and Australia is slated to start from November 21. It could prove to be a tough tour for England, as they will be participating in the series without James Anderson and Stuart Broad. The onus, therefore, will be on Joe Root, who is currently the most senior player in the team, having loads of Ashes experience.
