Islamabad vs Multan Live: Sultans on 49/1 After Powerplay

The Multan Sultans began their pursuit of 172 runs with a calculated approach during the powerplay at Gaddafi Stadium. They have reached 49 for the loss of one wicket in the powerplay. 

Islamabad United’s bowling attack, led by the disciplined Imad Wasim and the pace of Salman Mirza, looked to exploit the fresh ball under the lights. Experienced campaigner Steve Smith showed immediate intent, providing the early momentum with a well-timed boundary and a signature six that kept the required run rate manageable from the onset. 

However, Islamabad United managed to strike a vital blow before the fielding restrictions were lifted. A sharp delivery from the United attack forced a miscue, resulting in the fall of the first wicket of Sahibzada Farhan (2 off 4). 

Despite this setback, the Sultans maintained a healthy scoring rate, ending the powerplay at 49/1. With nine wickets still in hand and needing a further 123 runs from 84 deliveries, the match moved into the middle overs.
