Islamabad United have signed Chris Green as a replacement for injured Australian batter Max Bryant ahead of PSL 11, which begins on March 26. The franchise confirmed the change just before the start of the tournament after Bryant was ruled out due to injury.
Bryant had been picked in the players’ auction earlier this year but will miss the entire season. The franchise confirmed the replacement through a social media statement:
“[Chris Green] replaces Max Bryant. Unfortunately, Max Bryant has been ruled out of the [PSL] due to an injury.”
Green is a bowling all-rounder with extensive experience in franchise cricket around the world. He has previously played in competitions such as the Indian Premier League, Caribbean Premier League, SA20 and The Hundred. He has also played in the Pakistan Super League before, representing Multan Sultans in the 2019 season.
His prior PSL appearance included five matches in which he contributed with both bat and ball, giving Islamabad United an experienced all-round option for the upcoming season.
Islamabad United will begin their Pakistan Super League campaign against Multan Sultans in Lahore. The upcoming edition will feature eight teams and a total of 44 matches during the tournament window running until early May.
The squad for the season will be led by Shadab Khan, with several local and overseas players included in the lineup for the 11th edition of the league.
