Islamabad United Reveals Retained Players Ahead of PSL 11 Auction

Pakistan Super League franchise Islamabad United has made its official retentions known as the PSL 11 auction approaches. Sharing the update on social media, the three-time PSL champions confirmed that Shadab Khan, Andries Gous, and Salman Irshad will remain with the team for the upcoming season.

“More big news coming soon. @shadab0800 – Platinum @salman150kph – Gold @gousie08 – Silver. These are the 3 retentions for #HBLPSL season 11,” the team wrote in a social media post.

In the Platinum category, Islamabad United retains Shadab Khan. For the Gold category, the franchise picked pacer Salman Irshad. USA all-rounder Andries Gous has been retained in the Silver category.

The PSL 11 is set to begin on March 26, 2026, with Faisalabad hosting for the first time alongside Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The league will feature an auction system instead of the previous draft format.

Under the new retention rules, franchises may retain up to four players, one per category. Teams will no longer have the option to retain up to eight players, and the previous clauses for mentors, brand ambassadors, and Right to Match (RTM) have been removed entirely. This streamlined approach simplifies squad building ahead of the auction.

With the PSL 11 auction approaching, Islamabad United aims to finalize its squad while keeping its core players intact. Fans will be keenly watching for further announcements as franchises navigate the new rules and look to assemble their strongest teams.
