The PSL 11 auction build-up took shape on Tuesday when Islamabad United moved three players into the Platinum category. The decision strengthened an already strong squad.
The three recent Islamabad United Platinum players include Salman Ali Agha, Sahibzada Farhan, and Mohammad Nawaz. They are rewarded for their recent form and growing role in the team.
With the upgrades, Islamabad United now have six Platinum players alongside Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Imad Wasim, giving the squad more depth and balance.
Agha and Nawaz climbed straight from Silver, while Farhan made the jump from Supplementary Silver.
The league also released updated Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging lists, retaining 73 local players across the eight teams, including champions Lahore Qalandars.
Gold emerged as the most crowded group with 33 names. Diamond followed with 11. The Silver list settled at 16, spread unevenly across franchises.
This season carries extra weight, as the 11th edition of the PSL 11 auction will mark the league’s expansion to eight teams, with Hyderabad and Sialkot joining the fold. It also ends the traditional draft era.
Franchises will take part in an open auction on February 11 under the Pakistan Cricket Board. Islamabad United Platinum players’ upgrades look like a clear statement of intent rather than just pre-auction talk.
