India have confirmed their squad for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, with Harmanpreet Kaur set to captain the side in the tournament scheduled to begin in June. The team will also face England women's cricket team in a three-match T20I series ahead of the global event as part of their preparations.
The batting unit features experienced players including Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues, along with wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh. The bowling group will rely on Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh to lead the attack.
Four players, Bharti Fulmali, Nandani Sharma, Shree Charani and Kranti Gaud, have been selected for their first appearance in a senior global tournament. The same group will travel for the T20I series in England, which serves as the final build-up before the World Cup.
India are placed in Group A and will begin their campaign with a high-profile clash in the India vs Pakistan fixture on June 14 at Edgbaston. They will also face Australia, Bangladesh, Netherlands and South Africa during the group stage.
Following the tournament, India will play a one-off Test against England at Lord's Cricket Ground from July 10 to 13. The match is set to mark a historic occasion as the first women’s Test at the venue.
