The England women's cricket team have confirmed their 15-player squad for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, which begins on June 12 at Edgbaston. All-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt will lead the side in a tournament that England will host for the first time since their 2017 ODI World Cup success.
England’s selection combines established internationals with several younger players making their first appearance at a global T20 event. Teenage spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman earned a maiden World Cup call-up after a strong rise through domestic cricket and performances in The Hundred. Fast bowlers Issy Wong and Lauren Filer are also included for their first T20 World Cup campaign.
Corteen-Coleman attracted attention last season after taking four wickets in four balls during the Charlotte Edwards Cup. Her performances during a recent training camp in South Africa further strengthened her case for selection.
With the ICC expanding the tournament to 12 teams and introducing a record prize pool for the 2026 edition, the competition is expected to carry greater intensity than previous editions.
England have largely stayed with an experienced group for the home tournament. Senior batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge is set for her eighth appearance at a Women’s T20 World Cup, while players such as Heather Knight, Sophie Ecclestone and Amy Jones remain central to the squad.
One of the notable absentees is 19-year-old batter Davina Perrin, who misses out despite impressive domestic form over the past year.
Head coach Charlotte Edwards said the final selection process was highly competitive because of the depth available in the national setup.
“The waiting and wondering is over,” Edwards said in a press release. “We have named our ICC Women's T20 World Cup squad and there is no doubt that it has been incredibly tough to get to these 15 names.”
Captain Sciver-Brunt said leading England at a home World Cup carried added significance and highlighted the group’s ambition heading into the tournament.
“It is a huge honour to be leading England into a T20 World Cup at home,” she said.
