HARARE: Opening batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi showcased a batting masterclass, blasting a career-best 81 runs off just 49 deliveries to power India to a formidable 192 for 5 in 3rd T20I against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club.

After winning the toss, Indian skipper Shreyas Iyer opted to bat first. The decision immediately paid dividends. Sooryavanshi took control of the innings from the opening over, combining technical elegance with brutal power. The young southpaw took a particular liking to the home side's pace attack, dismantling the bowling lineup by smashing four boundaries and eight towering sixes. His explosive knock laid a rock-solid foundation, ensuring the tourists' scoring rate remained well above nine runs per over throughout the powerplay and middle stages.

While Sooryavanshi stole the spotlight, he received valuable support from India's senior core. Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan anchored one end with a composed 29 runs, rotating the strike efficiently to keep the momentum going. Captain Iyer chipped in with a calculated 27 runs, orchestrating the middle-order transition after Sooryavanshi’s departure in the 15th over.

Zimbabwe's bowlers struggled to find answers under a relentless Indian assault, but medium-pacer Brad Evans provided the crucial breakthroughs. Evans finished as the pick of the hosts' bowling attack, claiming 2 for 41 by utilizing slower variations in the death overs. Despite his disciplined late-spell efforts, big-hitting Rinku Singh provided the final flourish for the Men in Blue. Rinku hammered a quickfire, unbeaten 25 runs off 14 balls in the death overs to push the total past the 190-run mark.

The hosts now face a daunting task. Chasing 193 runs to claim a victory against a highly disciplined Indian bowling unit will require a historic batting effort from the Chevrons on a slowing Harare turf.
