Ind vs Zim 3rd T20 Live: Sooryavanshi 50 Power India to 94/1
HARARE: India surged to 94/1 after 10 overs against Zimbabwe in the 3rd T20I at the Harare Sports Club. After winning the toss, the visitors launched a ferocious top-order assault to seize absolute control of the match early in the innings.
The only breakthrough for Zimbabwe came early in the second over when Blessing Muzarabani struck a crucial blow. He dismissed dangerous opener Abhishek Sharma for just 2 runs off 4 balls, forcing a leading edge that was safely caught by wicketkeeper Tadiwanashe Marumani to leave India at 20/1.
However, the teenage opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi launched a spectacular counter-attack. The young left-hander took full advantage of the Powerplay restrictions, hammering six boundaries and two sixes. By the end of the 10th over, Sooryavanshi was anchoring the innings aggressively, remaining unbeaten on a blistering 51 runs off 32 deliveries.
Partnering him at the other end was the experienced Ishan Kishan, who ensured Zimbabwe's bowlers could not build any pressure in the middle overs. Kishan rotated the strike cleanly and found the fence with four precise boundaries, accumulating a fluent 29 runs off 25 balls* to build an unbroken 69-run partnership.
Zimbabwean captain Sikandar Raza heavily rotated his bowling attack in an attempt to break the partnership, using seven different bowlers across the opening 10 overs. While Muzarabani was good with 1/14 from his 2 overs, the rest of the attack struggled against the onslaught.
Newman Nyamhuri conceded 18 runs from his 2 overs, while Brad Evans (15 runs), Wellington Masakadza (14 runs), and skipper Raza himself (17 runs) all leaked runs heavily in their solitary overs. Brian Bennett (7 runs) and Wesley Madhevere (4 runs) bowled tighter single-over spells, but India's batters remained firmly in the driver's seat as the match headed toward the halfway stage.
