ICC Men’s Test Batsmen Rankings - Babar Slides Down & Rizwan Climbs Up

ICC Men’s Test Batsmen Rankings - Babar Slides Down & Rizwan Climbs Up

All time favorite Babar Azam has not been having the best time in his career lately. A humiliating exit from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, frequent low individual scores, and a historic defeat in the PAK vs BAN 1st test has put Pakistan’s white-ball captain under immense pressure.

Adding insult to injury is a massive drop in Babar Azam’s ICC Men’s Test batsmen ranking. A score of 0 and 22 in the Pakistan vs Bangladesh 1st test has moved Babar Azam from the 3rd to the 9th spot with 734 points.

Azam is now just 6 points ahead of fellow wicket-keeper batsman, Mohammad Rizwan, who saw a significant rise in his test batting ranking. His impressive scores of 171* and 51 in the PAK vs BAN 1st test brought about this change.

Rizwan’s impressive performance has propelled him up seven spots to achieve his career-high ranking of no.10, securing a spot in the top 10 for the first time.

Mohammad Rizwan is sharing the 10th spot with Australia’s Usman Khawaja, both of whom have 728 rating points.

When adept batsmen couldn’t perform, newbie Saud Shakeel took matters into his own hands and played a beautiful knock of 141-runs in the 1st innings.

His one of a kind innings resulted in his one-spot rise to the 13th position.

Meanwhile, pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi dropped two places to tenth after a below-par performance in the first Test against Bangladesh, returning with figures of 2-88 in the first innings.

Bangladesh’s savior Mushfiqur Rahim climbed seven places to reach his career-best 17th, courtesy of his stellar 191-run knock.
