Mohammad Rizwan & Saud Shakeel Dominate Pakistan vs Bangladesh 1st Test Day 2

At the end of Pakistan vs Bangladesh 1st test day 2 session 1, Pakistan had reached a total of 256/4.

Muhammad Rizwan who stepped in after Saim Ayub’s dismissal settled in very quickly and took the game forward with Saud Shakeel. Their partnership is currently 163 not out.

M. Rizwan’s brilliance prevailed as he scored his 3rd test century.

Saud Shakeel followed suit and also scored his 3rd test century.

The hosts finished on 158/4 at stumps after 41 overs were bowled on opening day with vice-captain Saud Shakeel on 57* (92) while wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan made 24* (31).

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. For the first 10 overs, this decision worked very well in their favor as the home side struggled greatly against Bangladesh’s pace attack.

Opening batsman Abdullah Shafique (2), along with skipper Shan Masood (6), and Babar Azam (0) were dismissed inside the first 10 overs by Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud.

After losing 3 early and important wickets, Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel provided some stability to the team with their 98-run partnership.

Saim scored his 1st international half-century, but was then dismissed by Hasan Mahmud at 56. He made 56 off 98 balls which included four fours and a six.

Saud carried the game forward with Rizwan. Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud took 2 wickets each and were the most successful bowlers from the Bangladesh team.

The Pakistan vs Bangladesh test series is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-2025.
