Faheem’s 100-wicket mark overshadowed by Kingsmen win

Faheem’s 100-wicket mark overshadowed by Kingsmen win

Faheem Ashraf walked in with quiet intent and walked off with history. The all-rounder ticked off a landmark that only a handful have managed in the league. His two wickets were enough to push him to 100 in the tournament. A clean number, and one that carries weight in PSL circles.

In his 89th outing, he joined names that have defined bowling across seasons. Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Shadab Khan. Now Faheem stands there too.

Top Wicket-Takers in PSL (All Seasons)

  • Hasan Ali – 134 wickets
  • Shaheen Afridi – 132 wickets
  • Wahab Riaz – 113 wickets
  • Shadab Khan – 112 wickets
  • Faheem Ashraf – 100 wickets

While the PSL 11 Faheem Ashraf milestone gave Islamabad something to hold onto, the game itself slipped away in phases. And those phases hurt.

Kingsmen Flip The Chase With Calm Finish

United never quite found momentum with the bat. Devon Conway looked sharp for a while, threading gaps and keeping the board ticking. His 45 had purpose. Mark Chapman followed a similar path, adding 42 with neat timing rather than brute force.

Wickets kept falling at regular intervals, not in clusters but often enough to stall the innings. Islamabad finished on 153 for 9, a total that looked competitive on the surface but far from secure. It always felt like they would need early breakthroughs to stay in control.

Faheem made an impact with two wickets, bowling in the right areas and drawing mistakes from the batters. For a while, Islamabad looked back in the contest as the crowd leaned in and the noise around the ground began to build.

Then Labuschagne settled things.

The Kingsmen skipper didn’t rush. He built it brick by brick. His unbeaten 61 came without panic, just clean placement and patience. Saim Ayub added energy with a brisk 35, while Maaz Sadaqat chipped in quietly.

Then Maxwell stepped in and changed the tempo. He hammered 21 off just nine balls, playing with urgency and clarity.

That short burst shifted the chase firmly in Kingsmen’s favour, and the target suddenly looked well within reach.

The Islamabad United vs Kingsmen match ended with 11 balls to spare. That says plenty.

For Islamabad, the loss stings more than it shows. They had moments. They had control, briefly. But control in T20 doesn’t last unless you tighten every screw.

Faheem’s milestone will be remembered, there is no question about that. But inside the dressing room, the focus will stay on the result, because this was a game they had within reach and still let slip away.
