Eng vs Pak Live: England WON Super 8 Clash by 2 Wickets

England won a thrilling Pak vs Eng Super 8 match against Pakistan by 2 wickets, chasing down 165 in 19.1 overs. Pakistan had posted 164/9 in their 20 overs, with Sahibzada Farhan top-scoring 63 off 45 balls, supported by Babar Azam (25) and Fakhar Zaman (25).

Shaheen Shah Afridi 4/30 impressed for Pakistan, while Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Tariq picked up 2 wickets each. Despite these efforts, Pakistan couldn’t defend their total against England’s aggressive batting lineup.

After Pakistan struck early in the powerplay, claiming three crucial wickets, Harry Brook rose to the occasion. The England captain smashed 100 off just 51 balls, hitting 10 crisp boundaries and 4 towering sixes at a strike rate of 196. His brilliant timing and power frustrated Pakistan’s bowlers and completely turned the momentum in England’s favor.

Brook’s innings was backed by key contributions from Will Jacks (28 off 23) and Sam Curran (16 off 15), helping England maintain a strong scoring rate. Despite losing eight wickets in the chase, England finished 166/8, showcasing resilience and depth in their batting. This remarkable effort also marked a memorable Harry Brook century.

Phil Salt (0) and Jos Buttler (2) fell early to Shaheen Shah Afridi, while Jacob Bethell (8) and Tom Banton (2) were dismissed cheaply. Sam Curran added 16 before falling to Usman Tariq, and Will Jacks scored 28.

Jamie Overton (0) fell late, leaving Liam Dawson (1*) and Jofra Archer (5*) unbeaten. Pakistan’s bowling stars included Shaheen Shah Afridi 4/30, Mohammad Nawaz (2/26), and Usman Tariq (2/31), but England’s timely partnerships and Brook’s masterclass proved unstoppable.

With this victory, England strengthened its Super 8 position, while Pakistan’s semi-final hopes now hang by a thread. The team will need near-perfect performances in the next match to stay alive, as Harry Brook’s century and England’s depth put immense pressure on Pakistan.
