Salt, Tongue Powers England to Dominant Win Over India in Third T20I

England humbled India in the third T20I at Trent Bridge by a huge margin of 125 runs. They remained dominant from the start, as the overconfident Indian side looked clueless in both innings of the match.

Chasing a challenging target of 202, the reigning world champions were bowled out for just 76 in 11.4 overs. It was India's joint second-lowest total in T20I cricket.

Talking about the first innings, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer chose to bowl first, but the decision did not work as England posted a strong total of 201/7 in their 20 overs.

England made a solid start, with openers Phil Salt and Jos Buttler adding 43 runs in the first five overs. Right-arm fast bowler Prince Yadav then gave his team the breakthrough on the first ball of the sixth over by dismissing Buttler for 36 off 21 balls.

Salt then built useful partnerships with captain Harry Brook and Jacob Bethell to keep England in control. However, Harshit Rana struck twice in the 12th over to leave the hosts at 111/4.

Salt and Sam Curran then put England back on track with an important 47-run stand for the fifth wicket before the opener was dismissed in the 17th over. He went back to the pavilion after scoring a brilliant 70 off just 44 balls, giving England a solid platform to march towards a big total.

Sam Curran then increased the pressure on India and remained unbeaten until the end, scoring a quick 44 off just 24 balls. His late hitting helped England finish with an impressive total of 201, which ultimately proved too big to chase for the overhyped Indian team in the second innings.
