The newly blooded Pakistani bowling attack, operating with the freedom of having nothing to lose, caused immediate jitters in the English camp.

England takes lead late in the day, ensuring they will walk out on Day 2 in a position to bat Pakistan completely out of the match. Brook remains at the crease, looking poised to convert his half-century into something far more substantial tomorrow.

Earlier in the day, England's decision to bowl first paid immediate dividends against a chaotic Pakistan setup. Ringed by off-field controversy and missing seven regular squad members due to internal management culls, Pakistan handed out three simultaneous debuts. 

The makeshift batting order stood no chance against a relentless English pace attack. Ollie Robinson set the tone early, removing Saim Ayub for a duck to claim his landmark 100th Test wicket. Jofra Archer bowled with terrifying pace to pick up 3/25, while Josh Tongue tore through the middle order to finish with stellar figures of 4/42. Only Saud Shakeel offered any notable resistance, scoring a fiery 43 off 47 balls, before Babar Azam’s clean-bowled dismissal for 7 triggered a final collapse.
