Brazil Secure Top Spot in Group C With Comfortable Win Over Scotland
Brazil booked their place in the World Cup knockout stage with a convincing 3-0 win over Scotland in their final Group C match.
Scotland manager Stephen Clarke expected Brazil to come out attacking, and that proved true when Brazil took the lead early on. A mistake from Scott McKenna allowed Rayan to win the ball and set up Vinicius Jr, who finished easily.
Brazil thought they had doubled their lead before the first cooling break when Vinicius scored after taking the ball from Jack Hendry. However, after a VAR review, the goal was ruled out for a foul in the build-up.
The second goal arrived just before halftime. Brazil won possession high up the field again, and Bruno Guimaraes delivered a cross to the far post, where Vinicius headed home his second goal of the match.
Brazil continued to attack after the break and eventually grabbed a third goal. Guimaraes picked up another assist after a clever run into the box before setting up Matheus Cunha, who scored his third goal of the tournament.
The result gave Brazil a comfortable victory over Scotland and confirmed their place in the next round of the competition.
