Elche vs Barcelona: Raphinha & Fermin Braces Lead 5-0 Rout in La Liga 2026

Elche: FC Barcelona kicked off their La Liga 2026–27 campaign in devastating fashion, securing 5–0 victory against Elche CF at the Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero. 

Hansi Flick’s men silenced pre-season critics who questioned the club's attacking depth following a summer of high-profile departures. This clash began with the Catalan giants establishing immediate structural dominance. Operating in a fluid 4-2-3-1 system, Barcelona pinned the hosts deep into their own defensive third. The breakthrough arrived in the 14th minute when Barcelona captain Raphinha was brought down inside the penalty area by Elche defender Víctor Chust. Stepping up to the spot with absolute composure, Raphinha coolly converted the penalty, setting the tone for the remainder of the evening.

Despite Elche’s rigid defensive block trying to limit central progression, Barcelona’s patience paid off just before the halftime whistle. In the second minute of stoppage time, summer signing Karim Adeyemi marked his competitive debut for Blaugrana in spectacular fashion. Showcasing elite technical skill, Fermín turned his marker elegantly on the edge of the box before firing a powerful strike past the helpless Elche goalkeeper to secure his own brace. As the final whistle blew, the scoreboard reflected absolute Catalan supremacy. While Elche struggled to generate meaningful transitions, Barcelona defeats Elche with an incredibly efficient offensive display, converting seven shots on target into five goals.
