Bangladesh Bowl Out Zimbabwe for 141 as Nahid Rana Takes Six in Harare ODI

Bangladesh has taken early control of the first ODI after bowling Zimbabwe out for 141 at Harare. The home side lost wickets regularly and could not build a stable partnership after a promising start. Watch Zim vs Ban live on tapmad.

Zimbabwe began with Brian Bennett and Ben Curran looking positive. Bennett struck three boundaries in his 17, while Curran made 18 from 19 balls. However, both openers fell by the end of the seventh over, leaving Zimbabwe at 36 for 2.

The innings then slipped quickly. Captain Craig Ervine was dismissed for a first-ball duck by Taskin Ahmed, while Sikandar Raza managed only one run before falling to Nahid Rana. Wessly Madhevere and wicketkeeper Clive Madande also departed cheaply as Bangladesh tightened their grip.

Nahid Rana was the standout performer. The fast bowler returned outstanding figures of 6 for 21 from 10 overs, including two maidens. He removed Kaia, Raza, Madhevere, Madande, Brad Evans and Richard Ngarava to break Zimbabwe’s middle and lower order.

Innocent Kaia was Zimbabwe’s leading top-order scorer with 26, but he could not convert his start. Zimbabwe were struggling at 70 for 8 before Newman Nyamhuri and Ngarava added valuable runs for the ninth wicket.

Nyamhuri scored a fighting 33 from 51 balls, hitting five boundaries. Ngarava supported him with 27 from 41 deliveries, including three fours. Their 63-run stand helped Zimbabwe move past 130 and gave the hosts something to defend.

Taskin Ahmed took two wickets for 32 runs, including the key dismissal of Ervine. Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up one wicket, while Mustafizur Rahman kept things tight with 19 runs from six overs without taking a wicket.

Bangladesh now needs 142 runs to win the opening ODI. The target is manageable, but Zimbabwe will hope their fast bowlers can create early pressure and make the chase uncomfortable.

Bangladesh are strong favourite to win from this position. Their bowlers have already given them a major advantage, and the batting unit should be capable of chasing 142 if they avoid early wickets. Zimbabwe’s best chance will be to strike in the powerplay and put Bangladesh under pressure before the middle overs.
