Australia Thrash Pakistan by 113 Runs in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026
Ellyse Perry starred with both bat and ball, scoring a quick half-century and taking two wickets as Australia beat Pakistan by 113 runs in the latest Women’s T20 World Cup match.
Chasing a tough target of 200, Pakistan Women were bowled out for just 86 in 13.4 overs. Muneeba Ali tried to hold things together with a fighting knock but got little support from the other end.
She scored 32 off 25 balls before being dismissed by Ellyse Perry in the 10th over. Only Iram Javed and Pakistan Women’s captain Fatima Sana managed to reach double figures apart from her.
For Australia Women, Annabel Sutherland, Sophie Molineux, and Ellyse Perry all picked up two wickets each, while Georgia Wareham added one to wrap up a strong team performance.
Australia captain Sophie Molineux’s call to bat first worked out well as her team posted 199/7 in 20 overs. The start, however, was shaky for the six-time champions, as Sadia Iqbal removed left-hander Beth Mooney for a duck on the very first ball of the innings.
After that early setback, Perry came in to join Voll, and the pair steadied things with a superb recovery, adding 100 runs for the second wicket.
Nashra Sandhu finally ended the dangerous stand in the 10th over by dismissing Voll, who made 39 off 28 balls with seven boundaries.
Annabel Sutherland then came to the crease to steady the innings alongside Perry. The pair helped Australia regain control, adding 44 runs for the fifth wicket and slowing down Pakistan’s momentum before getting out in back-to-back overs.
Sutherland played a useful knock of 27 from 18 balls, hitting four fours, while Perry stayed the main scorer with a quick 71 off 48 balls, including nine fours and a six.
Australia then lost captain Molineux for five on the second ball of the penultimate over, but Nicola Carey finished strongly with an unbeaten 26 off 13 balls to push the total up at the end.
Pakistan’s heavy defeat against Australia in the latest encounter leaves them in fourth place in Group 1. They will now face the Dutch next at the same venue on Saturday, in a match they really need to win to stay in the competition.
