Ambati Rayudu Opens Up on KL Rahul’s Batting Mindset

Ambati Rayadu praised the batting mindset of KL Rahul after the latter played a fabulous knock in the recent match against Gujarat Titans. His valiant innings of 92 gave Delhi Capitals a hope to chase the target, but they fell short by just one run.

Talking about the last batting performance of KL Rahul, Rayadu said that initially he was looking a bit conservative, but after finding the rhythm, he played a fabulous knock that almost won the game for Delhi Capitals.

"Initially he was conservative, he was getting a look in. But he turned it on beautifully. And maybe that's his role in the DC side, that's their strategy that he needs to bat deep." said Ambati Rayadu.

He further praised the batting ability of KL Rahul, saying that once he gets going, it is always hard to stop him from scoring runs.

"We all know that once he gets in, he has the game to play a boundary shot against any delivery. That has been Rahul's specialty over the years. It's just his mindset, how and when he wants to do it is what his battle has always been about.” said Ambati Rayadu.

"Because he has the game to take on the spinners, the fast bowlers as well as every length. So the challenge is the strategy he would come out to bat with." added Ambati Rayadu.

In the last match between Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans, Rahul decided to take the game till the final over. He hit a few boundaries at regular intervals to keep DC in the hunt, but kept losing partners from the other end. He ended up with the highest individual score in IPL 2026 so far, going past his teammate Sameer Rizvi.

"Today he wanted to bat deep. He wanted to take it till the end and he has done a fantastic job. Don't forget he's played a beautiful innings." said Ambati Rayadu.
