Abrar Ahmed Breaks Into Top Four of ICC ODI Bowling Rankings
Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has reached a new career high in the latest ICC ODI Rankings, climbing seven places to secure fourth position among ODI bowlers with 633 rating points.
The rise comes on the back of strong performances in Pakistan's ongoing ODI series against Australia, where Abrar consistently troubled opposition batters and played a key role with the ball. His latest jump makes him one of the highest-ranked bowlers in ODI cricket and further highlights his growing importance in Pakistan's white-ball setup.
Shaheen Afridi Also Makes Progress
Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Afridi also enjoyed a positive update in the rankings. The left-arm pacer moved up four places and is now ranked 13th among ODI bowlers.
While Abrar and Shaheen were the standout Pakistani performers in the latest update, no other Pakistani bowlers recorded notable gains in the rankings this week.
At the top of the ODI bowling charts, Afghanistan star Rashid Khan retained the No.1 position. England fast bowler Jofra Archer remained second, while South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj continued to occupy third place.
Batting Rankings See Limited Changes
The ODI batting rankings witnessed very little movement inside the top ten. New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell maintained his position at the summit, followed by India's Virat Kohli in second place and Afghanistan's Ibrahim Zadran in third.
For Pakistan, former captain Babar Azam held on to sixth place with 687 rating points. Salman Ali Agha, however, slipped four places and is now ranked 14th.
Pakistan Duo Gain Ground in Test Rankings
The latest ICC update also brought encouraging news for Pakistan's Test batters. England's Joe Root continued to lead the Test batting rankings with 880 rating points, while Harry Brook remained second on 857 points. Australia's Travis Head stayed close behind in third with 853 points.
New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra entered the top ten after moving up two spots, while India's Shubman Gill dropped one place to tenth.
Pakistan stars Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan both improved by one position and now sit 21st and 20th respectively in the Test batting rankings.
Among Test bowlers, India's Jasprit Bumrah remained No.1 with 879 rating points. Australia's Mitchell Starc held second place, while Pat Cummins climbed to third with 832 points. Pakistan spinner Noman Ali continued to be the country's only representative in the Test bowling top ten, holding fourth position with 817 rating points.
