PORT OF SPAIN: Abdullah Shafique’s brilliant innings rescued Pakistan from the brink of disaster on Day 3 of the second Test against the West Indies at the Queen's Park Oval.

Facing an imposing first-innings total of 344 by the hosts, Pakistan started the third morning in a comfortable position at 266 for 2. However, a sudden, self-destructive batting collapse triggered by a disciplined West Indies bowling attack shook the visitors. Pakistan's middle order dramatically crumbled, losing four quick wickets while adding just 67 runs across 29 overs in the first session. A misjudged run-out of Babar Azam for 88 shattered their overnight momentum, and the dismissals of Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha in quick succession left the team reeling and in danger of surrendering a massive first-innings deficit.
