Pak vs WI 2nd Test Day 3 Live: Babar Struck Early in 1st Session

PORT OF SPAIN: The Pak vs WI 2nd Test Day 3 took a dramatic turn at the Queen's Park Oval, as Pakistan's batting collapse again threw the second Test wide open. Resuming the day in a position of absolute dominance at 266/2, Pakistan seemed destined to build a massive first-innings lead. 

Instead, a spectacular batting implosion saw them slip from a comfortable stance to a shaky 311/6 in a short span of time.The morning session began with high anticipation for a historic milestone, but the momentum shifted instantly when Babar struck early in 1st session of Day 3. 

Looking to secure his first Test century against the West Indies, Babar added just two runs to his overnight score before being dismissed for a well-made 88 off 147 balls. His departure broke a massive 168-run third-wicket partnership with Abdullah Shafique, opening the floodgates for the home side's bowling attack.

The Collapse from 2 to 6 Wickets

Following Babar's exit, the pitch began to offer sharp turn, and the West Indies spinners capitalised flawlessly. Abdullah Shafique, who fought valiantly to reach a brilliant 126 runs is still on the crease. 

The new batsmen failed to handle the slow, turning conditions. Muhammad Rizwan tried to counter-attack with 18 runs but was undone by the extra bounce. Salman Ali Agha failed to trouble the scorers, departing for a duck. 

Can West Indies Go for a Sweep?

Jomel Warrican is the chief destroyer for the hosts with 3/92, while Shamar Joseph provided crucial support. With Pakistan still trailing by 33 runs with only four wickets remaining in their first innings, the momentum has completely swung back to the hosts. 

After winning the first Test in Tarouba by 90 runs, the question echoing around Trinidad is loud and clear: can WI go for a sweep? If the Caribbean bowlers can polish off the tail quickly, they will put themselves in a perfect position to secure a historic 2-0 series victory.
