Pakistan defeats india by four wickets in a high-octane Group C encounter at the 2026 Hong Kong International Sixes tournament at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground. The highly anticipated PAK vs IND super sixes clash delivered breath-taking entertainment as the Men in Green chased down a target of 89 runs with 13 balls to spare.

Afridi Blitz Powers Chase

Chasing a target of 89 runs in six overs, Pakistan's captain Abbas Afridi turned the match into a one-sided affair in the opening over. Facing his Indian counterpart Krunal Pandya, Afridi unleashed absolute carnage by smashing five consecutive sixes to collect 31 runs from the first six deliveries. The whirlwind opening stand reached 59 runs in just over two overs before Afridi was dismissed by Shashank Singh for a quickfire 35 off 8 balls.

Opener Khawaja Nafay anchored the rest of the chase with precision. Nafay remained unbeaten on 41 runs off just 12 deliveries, striking two boundaries and five massive sixes. Despite a brief fightback from India's bowlers, Abdul Samad and Irfan Khan Niazi kept their composure. Irfan Khan sealed the empathic victory by launching Rahul Tewatia for a maximum over backward square leg to wrap up the chase in 3.5 overs.

India Restricted Despite Shashank's Heroics

Earlier in the day, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field, putting India in to bat first. India’s top order struggled to find any momentum against a disciplined Pakistani bowling outfit. Openers Rahul Tripathi (9 off 5) and Nitish Rana (19 off 14) fell early without inflicting major damage. Skipper Krunal Pandya and all-rounder Rahul Tewatia also failed to make an impact, leaving India staring at a low total.

Shashank Singh emerged as the lone warrior for the Men in Blue, playing a spectacular cameo of 40 runs off just 11 balls. His explosive innings featured two boundaries and five towering sixes, lifting India to a competitive 88/5 in their 6 overs. For Pakistan, Abdul Samad was the pick of the bowlers, capturing two wickets for 10 runs.

Group C Outlook

This crucial victory rejuvenates Pakistan's campaign after they suffered a narrow one-wicket defeat against the UAE earlier in the tournament. With two points secured, Pakistan climbs up the Group C table. Meanwhile, India languishes at the bottom of the group and must defeat the UAE in their final group fixture on Saturday to keep their knockout qualifications alive.
