ZIM Clinch 29-Run Victory Over NED in T20 World Cup Warm-up Match

In the ZIM vs NEd T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up match, Zimbabwe defeated Netherlands by 29 runs.

After winning the toss, Zimbabwe chose to bat, aiming to post a challenging total. Early breakthroughs saw Brian Bennett fall for 1, but Tadiwanashe Marumani contributed 28 off 27 balls, and Dion Myers accelerated with a blistering 32 from 14 deliveries, including four boundaries and two sixes.

Captain Sikandar Raza added 20 runs, while Ryan Burl remained unbeaten on 50 off 31 balls, anchoring the innings. Late contributions from Brad Evans (15) and Tony Munyonga (17) helped Zimbabwe reach 178 for 9 in their 20 overs. Netherlands’ bowling attack was spearheaded by Logan van Beek, Aryan Dutt, and Kyle Klein, who shared the wickets evenly.

Netherlands Struggle in Chase

Chasing 179, Netherlands struggled from the outset. Max O'Dowd and Bas de Leede were dismissed for ducks in the first over, leaving the Netherlands reeling at 1-2. Michael Levitt offered resistance with 20 runs, while Scott Edwards contributed 26 before falling to Sikandar Raza.

Despite a late effort from Logan van Beek, who remained unbeaten on 40 from 31 balls and also took three crucial wickets and two catches, Netherlands could only manage 149, falling short by 29 runs. Richard Ngarava starred for Zimbabwe with three key wickets. This impressive Zimbabwe T20 warm-up match win gives them confidence ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 matches.

Player of the Match Performance

Logan van Beek earned Player of the Match honors for his all-round performance: 40* off 31 balls, 3 wickets for 22 runs, and two catches. His effort highlighted his all-round capabilities, but could not prevent the Zimbabwe victory.
