Zimbabwe beat Australia in the T20 World Cup. Chasing 170, Australia ultimately fell short, bowled out for 146, giving Zimbabwe a memorable 23-run victory.
Talking to X, Raza lauded his team’s display against a strong Australian lineup.
“This team. No words to describe what we are all feeling today, but we are aware of what lies ahead, and In Sha Allah we remain committed and focused,” he wrote.
He added, “Keep praying for us and in sha Allah we keep going.”
This victory marked only the second T20 World Cup encounter between the two nations, with Zimbabwe now unbeaten 2-0 against Australia, including their win in 2007.
With two consecutive wins, including a prior victory over Oman, Zimbabwe strengthens its chances of progressing to the next round. They are scheduled to face Ireland and Sri Lanka in the remaining group fixtures.
Australia must win both remaining matches against Sri Lanka and Oman to keep their Super Eight hopes alive.
