Zimbabwe Name Nyamhuri and Shumba in T20I Squad for Bangladesh Series

Zimbabwe have included left-arm fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri and top-order batter Milton Shumba in their squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Sikandar Raza will continue to lead the squad, which is mostly the same as the one that reached the Super Eight stage of the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Ben Curran has kept his place in the squad after replacing the injured Brendan Taylor during the T20 World Cup. He is now in line to make his T20I debut against Bangladesh, along with Nyamhuri. Meanwhile, Graeme Cremer misses out after suffering a fracture in his left arm, while Taylor and Tony Munyonga are the other changes from Zimbabwe's World Cup squad.

Milton Shumba has earned a place in Zimbabwe's T20I squad for the first time since 2022. He impressed in this year's domestic T20 tournament, finishing as the leading run-scorer with 223 runs in eight matches.

Zimbabwe head into the Bangladesh series after an impressive T20 World Cup campaign. They finished unbeaten at the top of their first-round group and secured memorable wins over Australia and Sri Lanka.

"The T20 World Cup showed what this group is capable of, so continuity was an important consideration for us.” said convener of selectors David Mutendera.

“We wanted to keep together the core of a squad that reached the Super Eight while also creating room for players who have earned their opportunities. This series gives the team another opportunity to keep growing as we continue building towards the major international tournaments ahead." added Mutendera.
