Zalmi vs Gladiators: Babar Azam 71 powers Zalmi to 8-wicket win in PSL 11 2026

Peshawar Zalmi produced a clinical and composed chase to defeat Quetta Gladiators in this Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators score encounter, finishing at 156/2 in 18.3 overs and wrapping up the target with ease after a strong batting display from their top order.

The chase was built on a solid opening partnership between Mohammad Haris and Babar Azam, who added 75 runs in quick time. Haris looked aggressive from the start, scoring 35 off 28 balls, striking five boundaries and a six before being dismissed by Saud Shakeel just after providing Zalmi a flying start.

After Haris’ dismissal, captain Babar Azam took full control of the innings, anchoring the chase with remarkable composure. He played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 71 off 51 balls, hitting 10 boundaries and ensuring Zalmi never lost momentum at any stage of the innings.

Kusal Mendis contributed 21 off 19 balls, supporting Babar through the middle overs before falling to Alzarri Joseph, who managed to provide Quetta their only breakthrough in the second innings. Despite that wicket, Zalmi remained firmly in control.

The finishing duties were handled smoothly by Aaron Hardie, who remained unbeaten on 18 off 14 balls, helping Babar complete the chase comfortably inside 19 overs.

Quetta’s bowling effort lacked penetration throughout the innings. Alzarri Joseph (1/32) was the only wicket-taker, while Saud Shakeel (1/23) struck early by removing Haris but failed to build further pressure. Jahandad Khan (0/27), Tom Curran (0/13), Abrar Ahmed (0/31), and Usman Tariq (0/25) all went wicketless, struggling to contain Zalmi’s top order.

Earlier in the match, Quetta Gladiators had posted 154 all out, but their total proved insufficient on a good batting surface as Zalmi’s top order comfortably dictated the chase.

In the end, Peshawar Zalmi completed a convincing victory, winning by 8 wickets with 9 balls remaining, showcasing strong batting depth and excellent control in the run chase.
