Seam and disciplined bowling dominated the day 1 of match 15 of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025. Aamer Yamin produced a spell of high-class fast bowling in Multan’s favour against Faisalabad at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium. His 6 for 37 is truly remarkable. Faisalabad bowled out on 212, before Multan replied confidently to reach 85 for one on day 1.

The morning started under light cloud cover and a surface offering early assistance, and Multan chose to bowl. It was a decision that began well for them. Yamin, hitting a tight channel from the Pavilion End, struck twice in his opening spell, removing both openers with deliveries that straightened just enough to beat the bat.

At 38 for 3, Faisalabad were reeling, but Ali Shan walked in with purpose. He did not allow the innings to collapse without resistance. His 95 was a lone resistance from the Faisalabad Region.

He found some brief support from the lower order, but Multan handled with bowling mastery. Yamin completed his sixth 5-wicket haul in first-class cricket before removing Ali Shan five short of a century. Faisalabad bowled out in 61.2 overs.

Multan’s openers showed good judgment and made full use of the conditions today. Multan has moved into a comfortable position now. They closed the day at 85 for 1 in 18 overs, trailing by 127, but holding a firm grip in the match.

Day 2 now offers Multan a golden chance to bat long and bat big. For Faisalabad, early wickets are essential to remain in the match.
