WI vs NZ 4th ODI Powerplay Live: WI Struggles at 35/1

Bridgetown: New Zealand’s disciplined bowling attack kept the West Indies under immense pressure during the mandatory powerplay, restricting the hosts to a cautious 35 for 1 after 10 overs in the 4th ODI at the Kensington Oval. 

Opting to bowl first on a surface offering noticeable assistance to the pacers, Black Caps captain Mitchell Santner utilized his opening bowlers masterfully to choke the run flow early on. The disciplined, tight lines initially made it nearly impossible for the West Indian openers to break free. The breakthrough came via seam bowler Nathan Smith, who extracted late movement to disrupt the top order. Smith dismissed the dangerous Justin Greaves for 10 runs off 13 balls, a knock that included two boundaries before he was caught out. 

Smith spearheaded the attack with excellent control, finishing his opening spell of the day with figures of 1 for 28 in 5 overs. At the other end, Jacob Duffy proved to be incredibly economical, completely locking down one side of the crease. Duffy bowled with phenomenal precision, testing the batters' patience and registering superb, suffocating figures of 0 for 7 in 5 overs, which included a vital maiden over.

Following the early setback, opening batter Ackeem Auguste dug deep to anchor the innings under tough conditions. Auguste fought through the stringent spell to remain unbeaten on 18 runs off 37 deliveries, hitting two boundaries along the way. He was joined by Keacy Carty, who played a supportive role to steady the ship, reaching 7 runs off 10 balls with a solitary boundary to his name. 

With the scoreboard reading a sluggish 35/1, the match condition remains firmly in New Zealand's favor as the field spreads out for the middle overs.
