History Regarding Frank Worrell Trophy

The trophy for the Test series between the two teams was established during the 1960–61 series in Australia and it holds the name of former West Indian captain Frank Worrell. After the 1964–1965 home series, the West Indies reclaimed the trophy which the hosts had first seized.

In 1968–69, Australia reclaimed it and they kept it until 1977–1978. Subsequently, the West Indian peak emerged, and they retained the Frank Worrell Trophy until the renowned 1994–1995 West Indies series during which the unofficial title of World Test Champions was exchanged.

Since then, Australia has held it. The 2-2 result in the Caribbean in 1998/99 was the only time the West Indies have even managed to draw a series against them. From now on Australia has won nine straight series against West Indies.
