Brandon King Stretcher Exit Worries West Indies Against Pakistan

The West Indies vs Pakistan second Test delivered a cruel twist for the visitors on day three after Brandon King injury cut short his involvement in the match.

Pakistan resumed at 266 for 2 with Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique looking settled at the crease. West Indies bowlers kept things tight during the opening session, refusing to hand over easy runs and gradually building pressure from both ends.

That pressure finally paid off in the 75th over. Babar nudged the ball into the off side and called for a quick single, but the hesitation proved costly. King charged in from cover, gathered the ball cleanly and fired a direct hit at the striker's end. Babar fell just short of his ground, ending his innings on 88 and extending his wait for a Test century that has now stretched beyond four years.

The celebration, however, lasted only seconds. 

As King completed the throw, he pulled up sharply and collapsed on the field. Players from both teams immediately signalled for medical assistance as he remained down in visible pain. After receiving treatment, the 31-year-old was placed on a stretcher and taken off the ground.

Cricket West Indies later confirmed that Brandon King injury was caused by lower back muscle spasms. The team added that he would take no further part in day three as a precaution while medical staff continue to assess his condition.

The incident leaves fresh concerns for the Caribbean side as the West Indies vs Pakistan contest heads into a crucial stage. Losing a key fielder after producing one of the biggest moments of the innings could test their resources over the remaining days.

For Pakistan, Babar's dismissal was another painful missed opportunity. For West Indies, the run-out came at a price they will hope is not too heavy.
