West Indies Bowled Out For 140 After Lennox Four-fer in First Innings

West Indies produced a dismal batting performance in the first innings of the third ODI at the Providence Stadium. They were bowled out for just 140, as Jayden Lennox once again starred by taking four wickets in the first innings.

Batting first, West Indies got off to a steady start, as the top order played strongly in the Powerplay. Ackeem Auguste then lost his wicket after scoring 26 runs, giving the Black Caps a first breakthrough of the match.

The middle order of WI then crumbled quickly, as Shai Hope, Sherfane Rutherford and other batters lost back-to-back wickets. Keacy Carty then built a partnership with Shimron Hetmyer to steady the innings, as NZ kept the pressure by bowling tightly.

Carty was looking well set to score a fifty, but a brilliant delivery from Bracewell ended his stay at the crease in the 29th over. He went back to the pavilion after scoring 48 runs with the help of six boundaries.

Shimron Hetmyer also lost his wicket afterwards, giving the Black Caps a strong edge in the match. The visitors took this opportunity to apply further pressure and eventually cleaned up the tail in quick succession. As a result, West Indies managed to score just 140 in the first innings, with Keacy Carty remaining their highest scorer.
