Sherfane Rutherford’s Unbeaten 76 Powers West Indies to 196/6 Against England

West Indies posted a challenging 196/6 in 20 overs against England in a high-intensity T20 clash. The innings began with early setbacks as Shai Hope and Brandon King fell cheaply, leaving the team at 55/3 in 5.5 overs. Shimron Hetmyer steadied the innings with 23 off 12 balls.

Roston Chase contributed a steady 34 off 29 balls before falling to Adil Rashid. The innings shifted dramatically when Sherfane Rutherford, unbeaten on 76 off 42 balls with 2 fours and 7 sixes, joined Rovman Powell. Together, they added a quick 50-run partnership in 26 balls to rebuild the innings. Later, Rutherford combined with Jason Holder for another 50-run stand, also in 26 balls, taking West Indies to a competitive total.

Bowling Highlights: Jamie Overton (2/33) and Adil Rashid (2/16) picked up key wickets for England, while Archer and Curran took one each. Despite the wickets, Rutherford remained unbeaten, showcasing his finishing ability.

West Indies’ early powerplay yielded 50/3 in just 4.6 overs, but Rutherford’s middle and late partnerships turned the innings around, providing a strong platform of 196/6 for England to chase.
