West Indies Recall Kemar Roach and Kavem Hodge for New Zealand Test Series

West Indies has recalled their most experienced pacer, Kemar Roach, for the upcoming test series in New Zealand. The decision has been taken after closely analysing the conditions of the NZ venues where West Indies will play the test matches. It is understood that the surfaces in New Zealand are highly pace-friendly, so the team decided to strengthen their bowling attack by adding Roach to the lineup.

West Indies are currently missing their two star pacers due to injuries, so bringing Kemar Roach back into the squad seems to be the most suitable option for them. He last played the test match in January during the Pakistan series, in which WI won the second Multan test by a big margin of 120 runs.

Besides Kemar Roach, West Indies have also recalled emerging all-rounder Kavem Hodge for the New Zealand test series. He has been added to the squad to bolster the lower-order batting of the Caribbean team in the upcoming matches.

Meanwhile, the off-spinner Khary Pierre has been dropped from the squad, as his performances in the last few series have not been up to the mark. Due to this, West Indies are now going with Kavem Hodge in the New Zealand series, as he is considered a more suitable bowling resource for the fast NZ pitches.

"New Zealand has traditionally been one of the toughest places for any touring side… The recent high-performance camp here in Antigua was designed to replicate, as closely as possible, the conditions we expect to face, particularly the pace-friendly surfaces." said Cricket West Indies' Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe.

The test series between New Zealand and West Indies is starting from December 2. The hosts are confident to continue their winning form, so West Indies will need to work hard in the upcoming matches to challenge the rampant Kiwis on their home turf.
