UAE Defeat Oman by 42 Runs to Register First Asia Cup 2025 Win

The innings of the UAE were also well opened with openers Muhammad Waseem and Alishan Sharafu together. Their attacking approach assisted the UAE in posting a competitive 172/5 in 20 overs. The side was presented with the best platform by Waseem with blistering stroke play and the stability of Sharafu.

Oman, with 173 to win the match, found it difficult to maintain the required running rate. Although they showed some resistance in the middle order, they were bowled out way short of the target, and ended their innings at 130 all out. The UAE bowlers maintained the tightness and hit at regular intervals, and never gave Oman a chance of gaining momentum on its chase.

This match win will not only earn UAE their first points in the tournament but also their confidence as they proceed to more difficult challenges in the league.
