Tuba Stars in National Women's T20 Tournament 2026 Opener with All-Round Masterclass

Captain Tuba Hassan delivered an all-round performance to guide Stars to a 39-run victory over Challengers in the opening match of the National Women's T20 Tournament 2026 at the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground.

Opting to bat first, Stars posted 156 for 4 in 20 overs. Tuba anchored the innings with an unbeaten 57 from 34 balls. Her innings included five sixes and two fours and provided late momentum after a steady start from the top order.

Top Order Sets the Platform

Stars built their innings through a second-wicket partnership between Samina Aftab and Kaynat Hafeez. Kaynat scored 34 off 25 balls, while Samina contributed 33 from 36 deliveries to stabilise the innings.

For Challengers, Zunish Abdul Sattar picked up two wickets, while Diana Baig and Neelam Mushtaq claimed one wicket each.

Challengers Fall Short in Chase

Chasing 157, Challengers were bowled out for 117 in 17 overs despite a fighting 39 from Natalia Pervaiz. Eman Naseer and Sidra Nawaz scored 23 each, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to build partnerships.

Omaima Sohail was the standout bowler for Stars, taking four wickets for just 12 runs in three overs. Aleesha Mukhtiar took two wickets, while Waheeda Akhtar and Tuba Hassan picked up one each.

Tuba Hassan was named Player of the Match for her unbeaten half-century and a wicket.
