Tri-series Points Table After Afghanistan Stun Pakistan in Sharjah

Afghanistan’s win over Pakistan has thrown the tri-nation T20I series wide open. After the Afghanistan vs Pakistan 2nd match, all three teams are still fighting for a place in the final.

Ibrahim Zadran and Sediqullah Atal started off with a 113-run partnership, which put Afghanistan to 169 of 5. Their bowlers then stood their ground to restrict Pakistan to 151/9.

The 18-run win evened the score between Afghanistan and Pakistan and improved their net run-rate. Their last match against the UAE could now guarantee them a place in the final in case they win.

Pakistan still sit on top with two wins from three matches. But their net run rate has dipped from 1.750 to 0.867 after the defeat. Afghanistan also have two wins in three games, though their net run rate stands at 0.283. Hosts UAE remain winless and stay rooted to the bottom of the table.
