LAHORE: The Pakistan cricket team is expected to host the Australia cricket team for a three-match ODI series at Gaddafi Stadium, with sources indicating fixtures on May 31, June 2 and June 4. The dates remain provisional, with the Pakistan Cricket Board yet to confirm the final schedule.
If approved, the series will mark Australia’s return to Pakistan for a 50-over contest after their previous visit in 2022. On that tour, Pakistan secured a 2-1 result, despite Australia holding a strong overall record in ODIs between the two sides.
Following the Pakistan leg, Australia are set to travel to Bangladesh for a white-ball series in June. The ODI matches are scheduled in Dhaka on June 9, 11 and 14 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The tour will then move to Chattogram for a three-match T20I series at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium, with matches planned for June 17, 19 and 21. The series will mark Australia’s first bilateral ODI assignment in Bangladesh in over a decade.
Meanwhile, Pakistan are preparing for a Test series against Bangladesh as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle. The two-match series is scheduled to begin in Dhaka from May 8, followed by the second Test in Sylhet.
Shan Masood is set to continue as captain, with four uncapped players, Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, included in the squad. The series will be Pakistan’s first red-ball assignment since their drawn home series against South Africa cricket team.
Pakistan’s Test schedule later in the year includes series against the England cricket team, Sri Lanka national cricket team and West Indies cricket team.
