South Africa Women posted a commanding total of 292/3 in 46 overs at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Tazmin Brits stole the spotlight with a brilliant unbeaten 171 off 141 balls, an innings filled with 20 fours and 4 sixes. Her dominance set the tone for the visitors, who carried momentum throughout their innings.
Brits and captain Laura Wolvaardt formed a record-breaking 260-run opening stand, frustrating Pakistan’s bowlers for more than 43 overs. Wolvaardt played the perfect anchor role, scoring 100 from 129 balls before falling to Diana Baig.
Pakistan finally found some relief in the closing overs as Diana Baig picked up two wickets, including Wolvaardt and Nadine de Klerk, while also being involved in a run out. Despite her efforts, South Africa remained in control, finishing with a total that will test Pakistan under lights.
This innings not only highlighted South Africa’s batting firepower but also underlined Brits’ rise as a consistent match-winner.
