His century came on 32 balls and was the joint-second-fastest by an Indian in men's T20. His score was also the fourth-highest by an Indian in the format that season.
In the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Urvil Patel of Gujarat and Abhishek Sharma of Punjab made centuries off 28 balls, and Rishabh Pant scored centuries off 32 balls in 2018 in Delhi.
On the whole, Suryavanshi has the joint-fifth-fastest century in men’s T20s. Being 14 years and 232 days old, Suryavanshi was the youngest man to score a hundred in a national representative team at the senior level. This was the previous record of Bangladesh, Mushfiqur Rahim, who was 16 years and 171 days old when he made 111 in a first-class match against Zimbabwe A in 2005 in Bangladesh A.
He scored 11 fours and 15 sixes before he was dismissed in the 13th over. His strike rate of 342.85 was the fourth highest, or a century or more in men's T20s.
It was the second century of Suryavanshi in T20s following an IPL 2025 35-ball knock in favor of Rajasthan Royals. He is the youngest man to score a hundred in T20s. He is the second-fastest centurion in IPL history; only Chris Gayle has achieved a century in 30 balls versus Pune Warriors in 2011.
"It was just my natural game and it's the T20 format, so I wanted to back my own game," Suryavanshi said after his match-winning performance. "I was dropped off the first ball, but I just thought I didn't want to change my intent because we needed a big score on this ground. The wicket was good and the boundary was small. So I was trying to back my shots."
He thanked his father for helping him stay focused throughout his career. "Because of how he was strict with me since childhood. Earlier, I used to think Why is he being so strict. But now I understand that the benefit of those things can be seen on the ground, that he didn't let me get distracted and kept me focused on cricket and made sure that I keep working hard," Suryavanshi said. "I can honestly say that whatever I have, it is thanks to my father."
When asked about the pressure of his early attention, Suryavanshi remained calm. "There is no pressure. Because the fans have come to support," he said. "And after going to the ground, the field outside the ground doesn't come to mind. Then my focus is on playing the ball."
India A posted a formidable total of 297 for 4, which is the joint fifth-highest team total in men’s T20 cricket. Captain Jitesh Sharma finished the innings with an unbeaten 83 off 32 balls.
The total proved too much for the UAE, who were restricted to 149 for 7. Left-arm quick Gurjapneet Singh starred with the ball, claiming three wickets for 18 in his four overs.
