'Our Flight is Booked, We're Going' – Suryakumar Yadav Speaks Out on Uncertainty Around India vs Pakistan Clash

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has spoken out on the uncertainty around the India vs Pakistan clash. He said the team is ready to travel to Colombo as per the given schedule and is not concerned about what happens in the future.

While talking at the media briefing ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Suryakumar also said that the mindset of the team is pretty clear and they are looking forward to performing strongly in the tournament.

"(Our) Mindset is pretty clear. We did not refuse to play them. The refusal came from them (Pakistan). ICC organised the fixture. BCCI and (Indian) government decided to play in neutral venue in coordination with ICC. Our flight to Colombo is booked. So we are going. We'll see what happens later." said Indian T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav.

Speaking about the mood in the dressing room, Suryakumar Yadav said that the team is focusing on one match at a time, so that preparation for every team can be done accordingly.

"The discussion in the team is absolutely clear. First we play the match on February 7, then we will head to Delhi (Namibia on February 12) and then we will travel to Colombo." said Suryakumar Yadav.

He then said that the decision regarding the India vs Pakistan match is not in his control, as he can only follow the BCCI’s orders. Keeping that in view, he will lead his team to Colombo on February 15, and the rest will depend on the decision-makers.

"Their (Pakistan) decision is not in my control. I wish I could take that decision. But then it's their (Pakistan) call. We've been told that we have to play on the 15th. We played the Asia Cup, we played three times. We played some good cricket against them. We won. We were happy. And, similarly, if we get an opportunity again in Colombo we will definitely play our game.” said Suryakumar Yadav.
