Nitish, Klassen and Unadkat Lead Sunrisers to Strong Win Over Kolkata Knight Riders

Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a big win over Kolkata Knight Riders, as Nitish Kumar Reddy delivered a powerful allround performance at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. His heroics allowed Sunrisers to win the match by 65 runs, giving KKR a complete hammering in front of the home fans.

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad started briskly, as both Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma played aggressively in the Powerplay. Their onslaught brought huge pressure on the KKR bowlers, who looked very uncomfortable from the start. Kartik Tyagi then finally made the breakthrough in the 6th over by sending Travis Head back to the pavilion for 46 runs.

The captain Ishan Kishan then came to the crease to continue the momentum, however, Blessing Muzarabani came up with a sharp spell to dismiss him for 14 runs. Soon after that, Abhishek Sharma also lost his wicket, giving KKR a chance to get back into the match.

However, the arrival of Heinrich Klaasen tilted the match in SRH’s favor, as he played a scintillating knock of 52 runs to stun the home team. Meanwhile, Nitesh Kumar Reddy also played a strong cameo towards the end, allowing Sunrisers Hyderabad to post 226 on the board in the first innings.

When Kolkata Knight Riders came out to chase the target, they started on a strong note but kept losing wickets as well. Their key opener, Finn Allen, went back to the pavilion quickly, whereas Ajinkya Rahane also lost his wicket in the 5th over.

These dismissals brought huge pressure on the KKR batting lineup, but the young Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a fabulous knock to calm the nerves. He scored a quick fifty from one end, showcasing why KKR trusted him to take the number 3 spot.

Unfortunately, the lone hand of Angkrish couldn’t save KKR, as other batters failed to produce any impact in the match. Soon after Angkrish went back to the pavilion, the middle order collapsed quickly, giving Sunrisers Hyderabad a firm edge in the match.

Speaking about the bowling performances, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Jaydev Unadkat were exceptional, as they picked crucial wickets to dismantle the KKR team. As a result, Sunrisers Hyderabad dismissed Kolkata Knight Riders to just 161, securing a big 65-run victory in the end.
