Abhishek Sharma’s Century Powers Sunrisers to Big Win Over Delhi Capitals

Abhishek Sharma’s Century Powers Sunrisers to Big Win Over Delhi Capitals

Sunrisers Hyderabad thrashed Delhi Capitals in the latest IPL clash, as Abhishek Sharma starred with a stunning century to give SRH a big win by 47 runs. He powered Sunrisers to a big total, as DC failed to match the momentum in the second innings.

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a flyer, as Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma batted confidently in the Powerplay. Their onslaught unsettled the DC bowling attack, as Abhishek took the lead in hitting more boundaries.

Even after the dismissal of Travis Head, Abhishek kept playing positively to take the scoreboard forward. He built a quick partnership with Ishan Kishan, who also looked good in today’s match with a fine cameo of 25 runs.

After the wicket of Ishan, Heinrich Klaasen came to the crease and carried the momentum, giving Delhi Capitals a harsh treatment on a flat Hyderabad track. Apart from Klaasen, it worked pretty well for Abhishek Sharma, as he usually likes to play on such lifeless surfaces to score big runs.

The young Indian batter smashed a big century, showcasing why he is considered a top batter in the IPL. Due to his blazing 135* runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to post a gigantic total of 242 in the first innings.

When Delhi Capitals came out to bat, they struggled early due to losing Pathum Nissanka in the third over. However, the arrival of Nitish Rana lifted their momentum, as he played confidently with KL Rahul to take the chase forward.

The duo built a strong partnership to put counter-pressure on Sunrisers Hyderabad, but Sakib Hussain eventually came up with a fine spell to dismiss KL Rahul. Soon after that, Nitish Rana also lost his wicket for 57 runs, giving Sunrisers Hyderabad a big edge in the contest.

Sameer Rizvi then played a good knock to take the score forward, however, the middle order didn’t give him much support. He was the lone batter to take the fight till the end, as Sunrisers kept picking wickets to make the match in their favor.

As a result, Sameer also lost his wicket in the final over, which ended Capitals hopes to win the match. Sunrisers Hyderabad restricted them to 195 and secured a big victory by 47 runs. The young Indian batter Abhishek Sharma received the Player of the Match award, as his remarkable century made the difference for SRH in Hyderabad.
