Dubai: In the recent ICC Men's T20I Rankings, Pakistan spinner Sufiyan Muqeem has climbed the mountain steps to be ranked the best bowler in the country. The young left-arm wrist-spinner has been playing well in fine style, and the fact that he has improved is a measure of the progress he has been making in the matches over the last few weeks.
Movement was also observed in the new list by other bowlers in Pakistan. Shaheen Afridi was also rising well with the ball. Mohammad Nawaz has registered one of the largest improvements in the squad, and Haris Rauf and Abbas Afridi have fallen short marginally. Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan, meanwhile, fell still further down the table.
Pakistan also had some good news in the batting charts. Hasan Nawaz kept on soaring, cementing his role as one of the reliable batters within the team. One of the most noticeable jumps was registered by Captain Salman Ali Agha, whose form was improving. Fakhar Zaman too rocketed up despite a lean patch with the bat.
In the world, the charts have remained the same with the same names at the top in both batting and bowling charts. Nevertheless, the emergence of youths such as Sufiyan Muqeem suggests that Pakistan has a bright future in the shortest form possible. Another indication that the future generation is prepared to continue with the team is his improvement.
