In his ODI debut in Cairns, Subrayen delivered figures of 1‑46, claiming the wicket of Australian opener Travis Head in South Africa’s 98‑run win. However, some officials raised concerns about the legality of the bowling action. This is the third time this concern has been raised with similar incidents in 2012 and 2015.
Under ICC regulations, Subrayen must now undergo an independent assessment at an ICC-accredited testing centre within 14 days to determine whether his action falls within the allowed 15-degree elbow extension limit.
