DUBAI: Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first against Hong Kong in the eighth match of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS) on Monday.

The Lankan team will seek to further their good performance in the tournament, as they have started the tournament with a comfortable 6-wicket win over Bangladesh. Captain Charith Asalanka stressed a balanced bowling attack led by Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, and Dushmantha Chameera, which would ensure Hong Kong is limited to a manageable score.

Hong Kong, meanwhile, will be keen to recover following hard defeats in Afghanistan and Bangladesh. As the captain of the side, Yasim Murtaza will rely on such a set of key performers as Babar Hayat, Nizakat Khan, and Zeeshan Ali to create a formidable challenge to the Sri Lankans.

This is the first T20I match between Sri Lanka and Hong Kong, giving it an added bonus of excitement among the fans. All eyes will be on whether the Hong Kong batting lineup can overcome Sri Lanka’s disciplined bowling in Dubai’s evening conditions.
