Sri Lanka Strikes in Powerplay After Strong Opening by Justin Greaves

The ongoing ODI at Kingston is currently looking well balanced, as West Indies started the chase of 304 in strong fashion. Justin Greaves led from the front by scoring quick 45 runs, however, Theekshana removed him in the last over of the Powerplay.

The home side came to the field in the second innings with a set plan to attack the Sri Lankan bowlers. Both openers, John Campbell and Justin Greaves, started aggressively by playing big shots. The striking of Greaves was remarkable, as he took the lead to put the pressure back on the Sri Lankan bowlers.

John Campbell returned to the pavilion in the 7th over due to an unfortunate run-out, but his dismissal didn’t alter the plans of Justin Greaves. The swashbuckling opener continued in his particular style to hit boundaries, giving West Indies a strong platform in the Powerplay.

The visitors also held their nerves amid the onslaught, as Theekshana finally came up with a ripper to dismiss Greaves on 45.

After 13 overs, West Indies are currently going strong with 84 on the board for the loss of 2 wickets. They need the current partnership between Keacy Carty and Shai Hope to go a long way, as both batters have the ability to play a match-winning innings.
